HEAT DETAILS
Heat 1: Batchelor, Summers, Harris, Morris, 67.87 (3-3)
Absolutely sensational from Batchelor. He's third going into the third bend of the final but comes round the top to nick it on the line. Stunning speedway.
Heat 2: Kildemand, Roynon, Aspegren, Bager, 67.30 (7-5)
Kildemand is slow out of the gate but still somehow gets into the lead out of bend two. Bager lags badly.
Heat 3: Stead, Larsen, Doyle, Kennett (FX), 67.40 (11-7)
Outrageous excitement. Stead goes from fourth to first out of bend two and the riders clump together at bend three, with Kennett coming to grief wide out.
Heat 4: Kildemand, Andersen, Nicholls, Bager, 66.65 (16-8)
From the gate. Great blocking from Andersen.
Heat 5: Harris, Stead, Doyle, Summers, 67.24 (19-11)
Harris nips past Stead on bend two lap two.
Heat 6: Nicholls, Morris, Roynon, Batchelor (R), 67.33 (21-15)
Nicholls goes rocking and rolling and nearly wipes out Batchelor on bend one. Batchelor drops to the back pretty quickly and is looking down at his bike, before retiring on the final lap.
Heat 7: Andersen, Larsen, Kennett, Aspegren (FX), 68.31 (24-18)
From the gate. Aspegren suffers a heavy fall when at the back on bend four lap two.
Heat 8 (re-run x2): Morris, Bager, Summers (15m tapes), Kildemand (FX), 68.30 (27-21)
Summers touches the tapes and now starts 15m down. Kildemand's fairytale comes to an end as he crashes on bend two lap two when leading. The Dane looks groggy. At the third attempt Bager gates but Morris passes him on the inside on bend two.
Heat 9: Doyle, Stead, Roynon, Nicholls (R), 68.83 (32-22)
It should have been a 3-3 but it’s a 5-1 to Swindon. Nicholls slows down dramatically three bends from the end and it could well have been his chain that went. Doyle and Stead gleefully cruise in.
Heat 10: Kennett (tac), Morris, Batchelor, Larsen, 67.90 (35-28)
Easy tactical win for Kennett, but Swindon get another huge stroke of luck as Larsen pulls up when second. It should have been an 8-1.
Heat 11: Andersen, Harris, Summers, Aspegren, 66.77 (38-31)
From the gate. Andersen has been terrific tonight.
Heat 12: Kildemand, Larsen, Stead, Roynon, 68.02 (42-33)
Kildemand doesn't seem to be suffering any ill effects at all, powering from third to first on bend two. He could easily be on a maximum at this stage.
Heat 13: Andersen, Harris, Batchelor, Nicholls, 67.34 (46-35)
Absolute class from Andersen, while Batchelor battles his heart out for third.
Heat 14: Kennett, Doyle, Aspegren, Roynon, 68.21 (49-38)
Roynon nearly nipped past Aspegren at the end but the Swede just about held on.
Heat 15 (re-run): Andersen, Stead, Harris, Kennett, 67.80 (54-39)
The starting tapes are playing up again. On the second attempt Andersen is third early on but completes a superb evening by working his way up to first and a paid maximum.
