CHIPPENHAM Town have announced the signings of Alefe Santos and Daniel Griffiths ahead of the new National League South season.
Welsh youth international Griffiths is set to join the Bluebirds on July 1 when his Cardiff City contract expires while Santos moves from league rivals Weymouth with immediate effect.
Griffiths, 20, is a versatile forward who will join the Wiltshire club on a two-year deal, subject to a completed medical. Meanwhile, midfielder Santos arrives at the Thornbury Surfacing Stadium on a one-year contract.
Santos, 26, began his career at Stoke City before joining Bristol Rovers in Summer 2011, making his professional debut the following year.
In 2014, he joined Derby County where his time included loan spells with Notts County and Eastleigh before he signed for Yeovil in 2017 and subsequently Aldershot in 2019.
In August 2020, he joined Weymouth from where he now joins the Bluebirds.
Speaking to Chippenham Town club media, manager Mike Cook was delighted to bring in two quality additions.
He said: “I am delighted to welcome Dan Griffiths and Alefe Santos to the club. Both players are attacking players and will bring pace and creativity to our attacking options.
“Dan has had an excellent start to his professional career being on the books of Liverpool FC and Cardiff City FC, and he’s scored lots of goals in the academy system.
“I am confident he will make the step up to National League South football and hopefully score lots of goals for Chippenham Town.
“Alefe is somebody I have known for a few years now from when he was playing for Bristol Rovers’ youth team and then progressing into the first team.
“He is a good character and has excellent ability which we know he can transfer to our level, and he will be an important member of the squad going forward.”
