SWINDON Town can be found at as low as 3/1 with bookmakers to seal an immediate return to League One this season.
The promotion odds are extremely tight before a ball has been kicked, and despite Town's minimal odds to achieve promotion, Ben Garner's men are still the 11th favourites to go up behind the likes of Mansfield Town, Leyton Orient, and Port Vale.
According to a variety of bookies, Swindon have a 2.9 per cent chance of winning League Two outright, with the lowest odds at 19/1 in that market.
Salford City and Bristol Rovers are unsurprisingly the top two most-fancied sides to book a spot in the third tier next season with the pair reportedly having the biggest budgets in League Two.
Following a woeful 2020-21 campaign in which Swindon were relegated in 23rd via the most amount of goals conceded, a tumultuous summer centring around the ownership saga eventually cleared as Clem Morfuni took over late last month.
With the rebuild now well underway, fans' expectations are understandably tempered this time around, and the bookmakers' odds reflect that - especially in terms of the favourites to go down.
Swindon are second favourites to be relegated down to the National League at 4/1, just behind recently-promoted Sutton United at 7/2.
Town's opening-day opponents Scunthorpe United are the third favourites to go down with Barrow, Hartlepool United, and Crawley Town among the group which is also expected to struggle.
The odds for promotion and relegation are likely to change slightly before the weekend and could be altered significantly over the next few weeks as clubs complete their transfer dealings prior to the August 31 deadline.
