Two adorable Chow Chows are among the finalists for the Adver's Perfect Pets competition.
After receiving 197 nominations, we have whittled down the entries to a shortlist of 10.
The proud owners of each finalist are getting the chance to promote their pooch in the paper.
Ronny Quesnel suffered a miscarriage in 2021 and felt close to giving up, but credits young Chow Chow Medusa with saving her life during this difficult time.
Ronny said: "My boyfriend Chris and I found life really difficult but Medusa showed us so much love, cuddles and kisses.
"She gave us a reason to get out of bed each morning. She really is one in a million and deserves the win.
"She is the most special loving dog I could ask for. Our bear is the most loving, fluffiest dog that is so set in her ways but has the most amazing temperament.
"If she isn't sleeping and snoring, she is having a funny five minutes running around with her chicken in her mouth or even chasing the hoover.
"She loves going for walks around the parks and to the pubs with her dad Chris. She gets so much attention when out walking, especially for her blue tongue.
"She is a very popular dog around here and everyone who meets her loves her - if her tail is wagging it means she loves you too.
"Medusa is perfect to us."
Sophie Green is equally effusive about her six-month-old puppy Bear, which is of the same breed and has become an important part of her family's life.
She said: "He jumped out at me when I was scrolling through. I fell in love with him and his baby face instantly. He was the last of his litter, so it felt like fate that I should pick him.
"He's a big, happy, fluffy teddy bear that everyone falls in love with when we go out for walks.
"He's very friendly, kind, and loyal. He gets excited around new people but relaxes at home, he's as good as gold.
"Bear is our first family pet, my four young children love him, I can't fault him and could not be any prouder of him.
"He likes going for walks and playing with his toys, he's beautiful. I think his name suits him because of his fur."
