Hurrah, a use has been found at last for the former park and ride in Penhill.
As a Penhill resident I have no objections whatsoever to a solution being found for this terrible situation that the residents living around the Marshgate waste fire have had to endure for three weeks now.
All to the good if it speeds up an end to their plight. They have had my full sympathy for the last few weeks. Let’s help our fellow Swindon residents out.
The park and ride is surrounded by trees so it won’t be a blot on the landscape, and anyway it’s only a temporary measure to help the firemen get to the heart of the fire and put it out completely.
The Penhill park and ride has been closed to ordinary folk for too long, and now, when a situation arises when it can be put to good use in an emergency situation, people are up in arms. I’m sure it won’t affect us, this is a typical case of NIMBY scaremongering.
