MALCOLM Morrison (SA 15 August) makes another valid point, having driven on six occasions in three days around Regent Circus – in all directions.
I have witnessed pedestrians waiting timidly to cross the causeways which, presumably, are supposed now to be their territory.
Buses treating the bus lanes as if pedestrians have no rights at all and (on the ludicrously sited “shared” highway outside Kingsbridge Point) pedestrians glued to mobile phones who have no regard to drivers, watching two lanes in the one-way system and cross to the island area without a care!
This system all around Regent Circus is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
Is the council insured against shortsighted traffic planning?
