I HAVE not joined in the see-saw of letters coming from either side regarding our Muslim population.

I judge people by their character, not their colour, their contribution as law abiding citizens to the laws of the land they live in or temporarily reside in a peaceful civilised society, as well as their work ethic.

I do not mind who or what they worship as long as they don’t try to impose their religious beliefs on others.

Neither does it bother me how they dress, with one exception. For obvious reasons, I think you should be facially recognisable for crime and terrorist prevention reasons.

I learned a long time ago never to judge people by their dress code or physical appearance. Some of the most genuine, kindest people I have ever met in my life were the most eccentric in dress code and visual presentation.

There is good and bad in all members of the human race. I firmly believe more of the former than the latter.

Let us all work together to hopefully make it a better world for our descendants as well as more constructive, articulate letters in the Advertiser, which the vast majority of the writers are more than capable of contributing.

That includes the ones I have crossed swords with.

The readers who buy the Advertiser and keep a lot of people in employment deserve as much.
