NOW the General Election is over, we can all get back to reality paying the extortionate bills.
There are water rates, rents, mortgages, council taxes and a disgraceful, forced and implemented by law, BBC licence, VAT at 20 per cent affecting every purchase, from buying a car, as well as furniture, to a cup of coffee.
After all it is our hard-earned money after tax deductions that cover these ridiculous drains on our efforts to feed and clothe our families and keep a roof over our heads.
Paying in car park hospitals when you have cancer (I speak from personal experience on that one), phoning with a genuine grievance and spending half an hour on pre-recorded answering machines with human voices, be it car insurance, home insurance, or even a bank blunder, they are now universally known for that misdemeanour.
Perhaps other readers would hopefully join me recounting their personal experiences on this financial greed on the letters pages.
