THE members of the Rehoboth Strict Baptist Chapel, and those in houses affected by the ISG development in Swindon, have my sympathy.
Your readers might be interested in the following facts taken from ISG’s last annual report.
Point nine of their aspiration and goals states that they wish to benefit every community in which they work.
And then they add: “We will support our local communities and have a positive impact on our surrounding environments.” How odd then that after damaging the Baptist chapel they have not yet carried out the full remedial work.
Why cannot Swindon Council make some kind of enforcement order and make ISG do the work?
In the same report, although the company lost money, the executive directors had good increases in their salaries and bonuses of £246,000, £188,000 and £85,000 respectively.
Lest people think I belong to the church, I do not. I am a retired Unitarian minister who believes the members of Rehoboth should be treated fairly.
