I RECENTLY heard on the radio about teenagers and their so-say bad attitude towards work and getting a job.
I'm not saying that this isn't true but I have a 141/2-year-old daughter who is desperate for a little weekend job and cannot get one anywhere.
She has tried applying for a paper round but was told that the waiting list was so long they wouldn't even put her name on it.
I asked at our local shop if they would consider her for shelf-filling, and even the supermarkets in town, but was told no. She has been told in one of her lessons at school that she is allowed to work so many hours once she reaches 13 but she's coming up 15, so why is it so hard to get a job? She is living proof that not all teenagers have a bad attitude towards working.
