I agree with every word R Feal-Martinez has written in his excellent letter (SA, May 8).
There is not an ounce of truth in the fallacy that passive smoking is harmful. Perhaps a member of ASH could tell us how many death certificates have been issued with cause of death passive smoking.
If they don't know the answer, I'll tell them none.
I'm not surprised the national press has not seen fit to publish the apology Mr Martinez has received from the British Heart Foundation. It would not suit the web of lies and half-truths they have published over the years regarding passive smoking.
French people have the freedom to choose, unlike the brainwashed citizens of this nanny state. They threw out the idea of a smoking ban, lock, stock and barrel.
Finally, regarding the Dockle Farm lawn, I only hope when the smoke shelter is built, we will not have non-smokers flooding into it to escape the exhaust fumes, seeing that the Dockle Farmhouse lawn is situated right next to one of the busiest road junctions in Swindon.
