I AM not entirely clear why B Williams chose me as the target over the loss of amenities in Cavendish Square but I am happy to address some concerns.
The losses referred to took place before the Conservatives took full control of the council in 2004.
Since that time we have made renewal and regeneration a priority and, this summer, we will be starting the redevelopment of Cavendish Square followed by Shaftesbury Avenue.
Once the work is completed I would expect that many of these service providers will wish to return and the range of facilities available to the community will be greatly enhanced.
Added to this, all council-owned houses will achieve the Decent Homes Standard two years early in 2008 and the new extended wardens' scheme is also improving the quality of life in this area.
Further initiatives and regeneration projects are planned as we are determined to improve the quality of life for everyone in the borough.
