AS a Swindonian born and bred I am well aware of the history of the Mechanics' Institute and the Railway Museum but I am sick to death of the on-going arguments about the use of these buildings.
Every time a development for the use of these buildings is suggested Martha Parry disagrees and objects to anything other than a community centre for either building, even the suggestion of an advice centre was objected to.
There is already a community centre in the old hospital buildings so how can Ms Parry justify three community centres in such a small area of residential housing?
To hint that it was the fault of Mr Singh was a disgrace.
And to suggest that these buildings should be the centre of the new town development is not practical as it is not in the main shopping area.
Either develop the buildings or pull them down.
