I TAKE issue with your headline Voters boot BNP out of town (SA, May 5).
In fact the BNP polled 150 votes more than the Lib Dems and only 102 less than the Tories in the ward. Even the run-away winner (Labour) only won just over twice the BNP total. The BNP came in third from six.
Far from being booted out of town I would say Mr Bates put up a highly creditable showing for his first attempt.
As I put in an earlier letter I have no brief for the BNP, my normal party being UKIP, but, with no candidate available, my vote went to Green in case anyone is wondering.
G SCOTT.
