WE know that council tenants have had a £1 charge added to their rent to pay for wardens.

However, the council has also allotted a sum from the council tax to cover the non-council tenants who live on the estates.

This means that tenants who pay council tax are paying twice. Add this to the fact that a large proportion of tenants' rent goes to pay the rents of those who are on housing benefit.

The burden of supporting the needy falls only on council tenants, while the rest of the population, who are probably wealthier, get off scot free.

Isn't it obvious that the council regards its tenants as a captive cash cow which can be milked at will?
