OVER the last few years I have refrained from writing letters, but now I feel once again I can comment on the debate over the Government and, as usual, its critics.

Firstly, I still remain a loyal supporter of Tony Blair and accept there have been difficulties which quite frankly he has dealt with really well under intense pressure, both in and out of our party.

But can I just give a warning to all the Brownites and anyone who takes over, regardless of what is said at the moment about Gordon Brown as a leader. He is a man who has certainly been an excellent Chancellor, but wait until he has the full reins of Government. He will show his true colours as a canny Scot.' So I certainly still expect Tony Blair to carry on when he retires from leader to use his tremendous skills to other world events.

The Tories have been crowing about local elections but they need General Elections to prove David Cameron to be of substance and not waffle as he is projected at the moment.
