IN response to Mr Reeves' comments, the figure I quoted for the council tax rise wasn't some figure that I thought up, but one that was printed in an article in a national newspaper (one which actually supports Mr Blair).
The article didn't just mention patios as the cause of the rise, but any modification, extension, conservatory or improvement from the original build.
When this revaluation starts, and the inspectors come around to take note of what you have or have not done, and also take photographs on both the inside and outside of your house, then this will form the basis of any rise.
I'll say no more on the matter except to say that at the moment my tax is just over £1,200 a year (well up from 1997), when Mr Reeves gets his new tax figures for his house perhaps he will then inform us via this media, on what increase he has had and if the paper figures were right or wrong!
