A FOLLOW-UP to my recent letter nominating the Dorothy House shop thief as villain of the week.
The haul in this case was worth about £35, a comparatively large one. Sadly, petty pilfering goes on all the time, the odd empty hanger when the helpers know the item has not been paid for. Old clothes left in the changing room, dirty pair of shoes left on the rack in exchange for a newish pair.
I have no doubt the other charity shops will all have similar tales. Such shops with no security systems are very vulnerable.
How sad that some people steal from charities for which others willingly give their time and effort.
