WITH reference to the letter about allegiances from Mr Eric Beint of Burnley in Tuesday's (May 23) Advertiser.
Who does this man think he is telling Swindon councillors and residents how to run our town when he doesn't even live here?
Yes, the future is bright for the town and a university will be the icing on the cake.
And what better place to have it than at Coate Water next to the Great Western Hospital, where education and research links can be established, and NOT in the Coate Water park where people have been led to believe it will be.
Bath University is one of the top five higher educational establishments in the country and its reputation is world-wide.
A university in Swindon can only bring a brighter future for everyone.
He states that we should not be using the name Bath but Swindon University, in that case should we change the Brunel Centre to the Swindon Centre?
No, because Brunel brought great prestige and prosperity to Swindon, the same as Bath University will do for the town.
A new survey states that four in five young people in Burnley intend to leave the town because of the lack of prospects there, so my blunt reply to Mr Beint is mind your own business and put your own house in order, not ours.
