I WAS disturbed to read the new mayor's comments on his inauguration on May 19 (Advertiser, May 20).
Councillor Bawden is obviously finding it difficult to accept that he is no longer leader of the council, but to read of him setting out his priorities make me wonder if he's pulling the strings for the new leader and his cabinet.
The quicker Coun Bawden becomes comfortable in his symbolic mayoral robes and stops thinking he can be controller of his puppets the better for Swindon.
