THE government tell us that we are all living longer and so will have to work until we are 68 in order to obtain a pension.

But am I correct in thinking that the main reason why many (by no means all) of us are living longer than our parents is due to the care of the NHS over the last 60 or so years. And is not this same government closing wards, even complete hospitals, and sacking staff?

In other words the answer as to why our average age is increasing is being removed, thus possibly causing this age to fall in a few years time.
