WELL as we now all know Swindon became almost 100 per cent Tory on Thursday as both North and South constituencies became Tory and only two Labour candidates managed to get into the local council.

But I can’t understand for the life of me why so many people want a Tory Government let alone a Tory town. Do people not remember the 80s? We wouldn’t be in this financial mess if Thatcher hadn’t have sold off our entire industrial economy or shut it down. It was inevitable the country would go into recession. Like any industry if you haven’t got anything for people to buy then sooner or later you’re going to go bankrupt and we as a country no longer have anything to sell...

So I hope all you low/average earner’s who voted Tory are happy if this whole thing goes in their favour it means 20-24 per cent increase in VAT, up to £2 a litre for fuel, no more free bus passes in Swindon for pensioners, no more winter heat allowance for pensioners either and no more child tax credits for parents. So all you new parents out there who thought ‘now we’re better off let’s have a new mortgage, buy that swanky car on HP, or increase our family’ and decided to vote Tory. Just remember you were only better off because Labour closed the gap between the rich and the poor and made you better off. But just you wait and see how the Tories will quickly open that gap again with their huge hike in taxes. So for all of you who thought you were better off voting Tory, you will soon lose that sparkle from your eyes. As you’re about to find out what it was actually like for the ordinary ‘salt of the earth’ family in the 80s.

All I can say is get ready for a tax tidal wave over the next three years and everyone earning less than £50k a year is going to drown.
