IN response to the letter from Mr Mullin, if I didn’t know better, I would have thought it came from either Mr Warner or Mr Spry!

He talks of mess - where has he been for the last 13 years, and again, lay the blame on Mrs Thatcher, she came to power, because the previous Labour government had left the country almost bankrupt, and what followed was needed to get this country back on its feet, if there is no manufacturing now, can he explain what Labour has been doing for the last 13 years this country, if you include the debt of the public sector pension fund, and the money required for all the various PFI schemes, is now in debt to a total, not far off £3 trillion pounds, the interest on that alone is more than nearly all our current budgets, and will be so for many a year to come, once the annual deficit is removed, then we can start paying off the national debt, Prudence was spending £4 for every £3 he got in taxes, which is nothing new for Labour, they went out of office in '79 broke and now we have the same again.

Perhaps Mr Mullin will tell us how Labour would have solved the financial mess we are in, Prudence just wanted to keep on spending and at the end of their tour of duty, the party was being run by Lord Adonis, and Lord Mandelson, both unelected Ministers and the spin doctor Mr Campbell, so you need to look no further for the guilty ones. Time for those rose coloured glasses now Mr Mullin, Mr Warner will lend you a pair, if he is not too busy with his overdue apology.
