IS an MP a full time job asks Geraint Day? I would hardly think so, and ask instead whether we really need two MP's for Swindon or indeed whether we need 650 MP's in Parliament for that matter?
A not unreasonable question when one considers that our Parliament has been usurped of their duties to the tune of about 75 per cent of their workload by the EU bureaucrats in Brussels; which means our Parliament in Westminster only needs a quarter of MP's in total or 500 to be precise.
This fact has been acknowledged by David Cameron who suggested a cull of 10 per cent. Far too few, but maybe he could employ the remainder of the 15 per cent as replacements for the unelected Quangorites who have been costing us billions together with their grace and favour cousins squatting in the House of Lords!
The mother of all democratic Parliaments? I think not!
