Praise for supportive Swindon bus drivers

I'm a local bus spotter who some of the drivers see in and around Swindon.

I would like them to be appreciated.

For someone like me, I used to think bus spotting was sad.

But instead, these drivers always smile and wave.

It encourages me, a young nineteen year old, to go out and enjoy what he's doing every day.

Their smiles and waves for photos bring me joy. And they are not just driving buses, they are driving a community.

Swindon Bus Company drivers have been excellent.

So I would like this to be spread and I believe an article in your paper will do the trick .

Councillors better at responding to me

I know it's early days and things might change, but my recent experience with local councillors is a very welcome change.

I contacted Coun Chris Watts about the poor work on pavements in Rosemary Close, Haydon Wick.

Within 72 hours, Chris contacted me and arranged to meet me on-site and view the problem for himself.

I feel sure the contractors will be required to carry out remedial works.

A huge difference from their predecessors.

Providing school meals is essential

As a retired teacher, I am only too aware of how precious education is and how many factors can affect a child’s experience at school.

That’s why I’m proud to support Mary’s Meals, the international school feeding charity.

They do an incredible job, feeding more than 2.4 million hungry children every school day in 18 of the world’s poorest countries with a nutritious meal – giving them energy to learn and hope for a brighter future.
