Dear Editor,

First, I am sure every Swindon resident wishes the very best for the police officer ‘run down’ by a person riding an electric bicycle.

Secondly, I trust this incident will create a more active approach in policing electric bicycle and scooter riders.

It is sad that it has taken an incident involving a police officer to provoke a proper reaction from Supt Cox to the blight of electric bicycle riders who have a total disregard for the law.

I for one look forward to Wiltshire police officers taking a closer interest in people riding electric bicycles, and scooters and more importantly enforcing the law.
